Strensall's York and District Leeper Hare League division three promotion hopes were dashed by a 6-1 home defeat by title favourites Tockwith.
Mick Pipe actually gave Strensall the lead but Ben Tobin hit an equaliser and the sides turned round all-square. Tockwith took command after the restart, goals from Andy Wilson, Graham Hutchison, Danny Clemence and Adam Cummins sealing the win.
Amotherby are still favourites to take second place but they have a backlog of nine games to play after two long cup campaigns.
They came from behind to beat Hemingbrough 3-1 with two goals from Matthew Hood and one from Matty Biggins. Danny Young scored for Hemingbrough but it was little consolation as defeat ended their promotion hopes.
Heworth took three valuable points from their encounter at Wheldrake thanks to hat-tricks from Mike Pybus and John Verity and one goal from Ben Brannigan. Sean Buttery and Jonathan Shutt responded for Wheldrake who are already doomed to seek re-election.
Darren Scott gave LNER Builders the lead but Ben Crampton equalised for Sheriff Hutton before half-time. Simon Roy then put Sheriff Hutton in front after the restart but it fell to Tudor Carrington to equalise.
York RI travelled to Norton and fell behind to a Stuart Ellis goal five minutes into the second half but managed a last minute equaliser to save a point.
Dringhouses maintained their three point advantage at the top of Reserve 'A' with a 3-0 win at Old Malton. Graham Mitchell, Wayne Carter and Jim McMurray were their scorers.
South Bank took the lead against second-placed Kartiers with a John Dale strike but goals from Mark Mabbett and Glen Littlewood won the game to keep the Selby side in the title race.
Robin Bedford scored the only goal of the game as St John's College beat Pocklington to move into third place and Dunnington won 4-2 at home to Osbaldwick with goals from Paul Fowler, Mike Walker, James Calvert and Nick Robinson. Adam Fela and Jim O'Neil replied.
Wigginton Black Horse went down 5-3 at Copmanthorpe in the Reserve 'B' title run-in as Huntington enjoyed a narrow win over Wigginton Grasshoppers and now look like taking the trophy. Gavin Mears showed the way for Copmanthorpe with two first half goals. Ben Petts pulled one back with a penalty and goals from Angus Clapham and Tom Walters saw Black Horse take the lead only for Andy Manns, Matt Pearson and Mears, with his third, to turn the game back in Copmanthorpe's favour. Grasshoppers took the lead at Huntington after a blank first half but the table-toppers pulled level with a Mark Ellis free-kick and Jonathan Elsegood netted the winner.
New Earswick took advantage of a double header at Barmby Moor to move into third place and with games in hand could still feature in the promotion places.
They won the first game 4-0 with two goals apiece from John Conroy and Paul Harrison, the same players scoring in their 2-0 win in the second game.
Nestl Rowntree moved four points clear at the top of Reserve 'C' with a narrow 2-1 win at Riccall for whom Paul Wadsworth scored first.
Moor Lane look to be joining Civil Service in Reserve 'D' next season after a dramatic collapse saw them slump to an 8-3 defeat at home to Hemingbrough. They were winning three times with strikes by Gary Smith, Chris Hall and an own goal but the visitors kept bouncing back and ran away with the game following a spell of five goals in the last 20 minutes. Craig Welford (2), Nick Brown, Tom Caldwell, Richard Ireland, Scott Birch, James Akehead and Dave Jackson were their scorers.
Relegated Civil Service took the lead at Wilberfoss after 15 minutes but Paul Jacques equalised and James Romeniuk added another before the break. Mark Hughes netted a third for the home side.
Tockwith won the Reserve 'D' title with a 4-1 win over York RI while nearest rivals, Amotherby, were held to a draw by Fulford.
York RI took the game to Tockwith in the opening ten minutes but fell behind to goals from Nick Buckle, James Wardman and Phil Darley midway through the first half. They rallied and managed to restrain the prolific Tockwith attack although Henry Burton added the fourth goal before Colin Brown headed home a free-kick to gain some consolation.
Steve Dunn scored for Fulford after half an hour's play at Amotherby and it was on the hour mark before John Dunning managed to score an equaliser. Norwich Union won 5-2 at Norton with three goals from Nick Henshaw and two from Matt Devereaux and they could well feature in the race for second place should they win their games in hand.
