Robert Winston and Paul Hanagan, former stablemates and both champion apprentices, can figure prominently at Musselburgh tomorrow.

Winston, now riding as a freelance and one of the most sought-after jockeys in the North, teams up with Sarraaf in the DM Hall Handicap, and Ian Semple's charge is fancied to prevail.

A triple-winner last year, including once on this course, Sarraaf underlined his well-being when beaten only half-a-length by Nathan Brittles over seven furlongs at Catterick last week. Tomorrow's step back up to a mile should suit the nap selection.

Winston joins forces with Richmond trainer Alan Swinbank in the Robin Cook And UIA Classified Stakes and can take the prize on What-A-Dancer.

A recent winner at Lingfield, What-A-Dancer will lack nothing in fitness coming into this event, which is staged over his best trip of seven furlongs.

Hanagan, who remains attached as number one jockey to the Richard Fahey stable where Winston started, should also make his presence felt.

He can lift the £10,000 Mussel-burgh Town Handicap on Accele-ration, trained by Dick Allan.

The four-year-old was successful with Hanagan on board at Newcastle last week and a 6lb penalty might not be enough to anchor him here.

From the two miles of the feature race, the Honest Toun Fillies' Handicap takes place over the minimum racing distance of five furlongs, and College Maid is selected to show her rivals the way home. The seven-year-old, trained near Glasgow by Jim Goldie, is a previous winner over this course and distance. Royston Ffrench takes the mount.

Also worth noting at the Scottish course is Khanjar (4-40), who significantly makes the long journey north from David Loder's powerful Newmarket yard.

At Bath, a note should be made of Time To Relax in the Bathwick Tyres Fillies' Handicap.

The three-year-old has shaped well on both her recent outings on the sand and it is significant that trainer John Quinn, based at Settrington near Malton, is willing to send her all the way to Bath. With Richard Quinn in the saddle, her long journey should not be in vain.

The speedy Nutty Times, in the frame on both her starts this season, can make it third time lucky in the Severn Valley Claiming Stakes, while the potentially useful Stakhanovite can start the campaign on a winning note in the Letheby & Christopher Maiden Stakes (Div II) with Johnny Murtagh on board.
