WORKING women in York and North Yorkshire have no time for lunch breaks and their health is suffering, a survey has indicated.
Almost one-in-three businesswomen in Yorkshire eat at their desks without a break, according to a new study.
The Dolmio Express Working Women Lunch Report comes hot on the heels of a study on "deskfast", the increasing trend of eating breakfast at your desk.
The report suggests almost 51 per cent of women in the region have fewer than 20 minutes for lunch and 11 per cent do not take any time for lunch at all.
Nutritionist Fiona Hunter said: "Today's working women are putting their health at great risk by spending over six hours a day without leaving their desks.
"Staring at a computer screen, sitting with crossed legs and bending over a desk whilst hunched over a telephone all result in a work life that is severely lacking in exercise, nutritional balance and well being."
