Selby Warriors fought back from 18-0 down to condemn York Groves to a 30-18 defeat in the last game of their Pennine League division five campaign.
Groves had the wind advantage in the first half and ran in four tries before Selby got out of their half.
Full-back Paul Marshall opened the scoring with a powerful burst, then Jason Dunn re-gathered his own kick to touch down under the posts, Dunn converting, and Andy Starkey and Mark Pitchford also crossed.
But when Selby finally got into opposition territory, especially after the break, they had too much pace for the visitors as Wayne Fennell hit top form and scored four tries alone.
The first came on half-time as the scrum-half side-stepped cross-field to score near the corner, then immediately after the interval he followed up his own kick to touch down beneath the posts, Carl Bardauskas goaling.
Fennell's third came when Bardauskas ran down the touchline and threw a long inside pass which the scrum-half turned into a try.
More pressure followed and Bardauskas again showed inventiveness when he off-loaded between his legs for veteran full-back Andy Germaine to thread between two defenders to give Selby the lead.
The next try saw centre Andy Rowe, who had a storming second half along with Sean Barker and Andy Moore, burst clear and send Fennell in for his 33rd try of the season.
Second-row Alan O'Driscoll completed the scoring in the corner and two conversions from Fennell gave a final score of 30-18.
York only got near the Selby line twice in the second half but were thwarted by good tackles, while they were unhappy with the refereeing, claiming two Selby tries came from knock-ons while another should have been disallowed as James Foster-Rain - Groves' top performer alongside Matt Corr - knocked the ball from the Warrior's hand.
