YORKSHIRE businesses are winning the battle against cashflow problems, according to the latest Business in Britain report from Lloyds TSB Corporate.
Just 13 per cent of firms in the region report cashflow difficulties compared to a national average of 17 per cent.
Half of all the region's business reported to have experienced an increase in turnover over the last six months, a one per cent increase on the national average and a third of businesses, (33 per cent) reported an increase in profits over the last six months.
More than a quarter of firms, (27 per cent) saw a rise in investment, a trend that looks set to continue, with 29 per cent of businesses (the highest proportion in the country), predicting an increase in investment over the next six months.
Chris Taylor, relationship director at Lloyds TSB Corporate, said: "Effective cashflow management is essential to the smooth running of any business and it's pleasing to see that Yorkshire firms are coming out on top in their ongoing battle to claim monies owed."
