BEERS, bands and crown green bowling.
These are only a few of the treats in store for drinkers at The Ainsty public house, in Boroughbridge Road, York, now new landlady Debbie Chetwood has taken over the pumps.
It will be the bubbly 46-year-old's ninth pub in a glittering career which has taken in alehouses in York, Gate Helmsley and exotic Wakefield.
Debbie - who lived and worked in Melbourne, Australia, for two years before her visa ran out - joined the Fred Barras-owned Ainsty from The Salutation, one of Doncaster's oldest coach inns.
Her vision for the pub includes persuading a bowling club to make use of the Ainsty's beautifully-manicured green at the back and enticing the city's best bands to grace its hallowed stage.
She also plans to put on curry and Chinese nights and start a charity appeal to buy a guide dog for the blind.
"It's great to be back in York - I've got a lot of friends here," she said.
"I plan to be very community-minded at the Ainsty. We already support about five football teams and hope to do a lot more for charity.
"I've been made to feel very welcome.
"I'm single at the moment and looking for someone to look after me and spend all my hard-earned cash!"
Anyone interested in using the bowling green or playing music should phone Debbie on 01904 798147.
