WE read that the police are cracking down on speeding and reckless motorcyclists this summer (March 30).
Later in the article, Debbie Molyneux, local MAG (Motorcycle Action Group) ranter, indulges in her usual blinkered denial that motorcyclists could possibly be to blame, seeming to be convinced that we're all imagining it when we see a speeding motorcycle.
I was an active member of MAG for some years before leaving in despair at the delusional paranoia of some of the organisation's attitudes and policies.
"Blame everyone else and do what we like" seemed to be the mind-set, and "organise a protest rally if anyone disagrees".
During the time I was a member of MAG, Government safety legislation on helmet-wearing was met with a campaign entitled "Keep big brother out of biking".
I still have the T-shirt.
Very mature I must say.
In future, I suggest seeking the views of a less extremist body such as the British Motorcyling Federation.
