Thursdays have been earmarked for the York schools' cricket league and cup matches.
Most schools have a teacher for both league teams so, in theory, both teams can play on the same evening - one at home and one away. Teachers should contact colleagues as soon as possible, either to confirm or to rearrange fixtures.
Each match should be of 20 overs per side.
Bowlers should bowl a maximum of four overs each. Bowlers should have a run up of no more than ten metres.
Batsmen retire when they have reached 25. They may return if the rest of their team are dismissed.
If teams are level on points at the end of the season at the top of the league table, then the result of the match between the two sides will determine final placings. If the match did not take place then lots will be drawn. Likewise if three or more teams are equal on points, then lots will be drawn.
A results sheet is included in the schools' mailing list on which there is the fax number. Results can also be sent by post to Rob Graham, Bootham School, 51 Bootham, York Y030 7BU or e-mail to Lizrobmatt@aol.com or telephone 01904 623261.
Under 13 cricket trials will be held on Tuesday, May 4 and for Under 15s on Thursday, April 22.
Sessions will be indoors from 4pm to 6pm at Millthorpe School.
Players must take their own cricket equipment with them including bat, bails, gloves, helmet, protectors. Any player having problems with any of these items should contact the school's PE staff.
North Yorkshire Trials for Under 13 will be held on Tuesday, May 11 at Northallerton College at 4pm and for Under 15 on Thursday, April 29 at Bedale School at 10.30am. Packed lunches will be required.
