YORK Schools netball season has ended with a flourish after a string of finals.
Joseph Rowntree School won the Under-15 'A' tournament winning all their games in the nine-team round robin tournament.
They beat All Saints 7-4, Archbishop Holgate's 14-2, Huntington 7-1, Manor 16-0, Millthorpe 12-2, The Mount 17-2, Queen Margaret's 10-5 and St Peter's 14-3.
Huntington pipped All Saints by 0.2 of a goal to clinch the runners-up position.
Final placings: 1 Joseph Rowntree, 2 Huntington, 3 All Saints, 4 Queen margaret's, 5 Millthorpe, 6 The Mount, 7 St Peter's, 8 Manor, 9 Archbishop Holgate's.
The winning Joseph Rowntree squad was Cheryl Fairclough (capt), Nina Malton, Hannah Errington, Sarah Welsh, Emily Armstrong, Rosie Wright, Alice Lawrenson.
The 'B' tournament at St Olave's was won by St Peter's.
Final placings: 1 S Peter's 2 Queen Margaret's, 3 Joseph Rowntree, 4 All Saints, 5 Millthorpe, 6 Huntington.
Joseph Rowntree and All Saints shared the U13 'A' tournament title after drawing 5-5 in the final.
All Saints dominated their section, ahead of Queen Margaret's, while Joseph Rowntree were victorious in their group in which The Mount were runners-up.
In the semi-finals, Joseph Rowntree beat Queen Margaret's 9-1 and All Saints defeated The Mount 9-7.
The Joseph Rowntree team was Annie Roberts (capt), Jenna Howlett, Jenny Welsh, Claire Montgomery, Rachel McPherson, Olivia Lawrenson and Chloe Shipley.
St Olave's won the 'B' tournament with Joseph Rowntree finishing as runners-up.
The previous week the Joseph Rowntree squad won the Sherburn Festival netball competition for the 12th successive year.
All Saints won the York and District Schools U12 netball tournament. All Saints were also joint winners of the U13 tournament.
Meanwhile, Clifton Green Primary School netball team won the Intermediate Section of the Inter Schools rally.
The York and District Schools' netball annual meeting will be held at Millthorpe School on Tuesday, May 11. North Yorkshire Schools' netball will stage their annual meeting at Easingwold School on Thursday, June 11.
