POCKLINGTON ended up without a game after a confusing week.
They were geared up to play their delayed Yorkshire Shield tie against Keighley when they were informed by the Keighley fixture secretary that the game would have to be again postponed.
Instead of facing Pock, the West Yorkshire club were having to replay a Yorkshire One fixture with Huddersfield YMCA which had been abandoned earlier in the season with just minutes to go because of fighting.
Pocklington stood their players down but then got a call from another Keighley official later in the week to say that the Shield game could go ahead. But by them it was too late in the day for Pocklington to get their side back together.
Nestl Rowntree produced their best rugby of the season in a club game to beat visitors Malton 3rds 34-7 to maintain their unbeaten home record.
'Trees' powerful pack allowed the visitors little clean possession and scored first half tries from prop Graeme Lavender and No 8 Jim Baldwin with two conversions and a penalty from fly-half Ivor Jackson.
Malton replied with a quick break and good handling providing a try under the posts to trail 17-7 at half-time.
Nestl scored further tries from Jackson and captain Baldwin went over twice more to complete his hat-trick.
