HAT'S off to Hat. The show conceived by The Shed innovator Simon Thackray, from Brawby, is to form part of the Craft Rocks! evening tonight at the V&A Museum, London.
Hat is the show with words by Barnsley bard Ian McMillan, music by blues maverick Billy Jenkins and live knitting by McMillan, Jenkins, cornet player Andy Diagram, and viola player and knitting-needle percussionist Angie Harrison. Once again, the audience will be invited to knit.
Led by cult knitting club Cast Off, Craft Rocks! will run from 6.30pm to 10pm and will feature knitting performances, talks and workshops, with pom-pom making in the William Morris room, crochet spider's web spinning in the V&A's grand Dome and record spinning by the knitting DJs Poodle Rock and the Murri Folk Club.
