MR Steele misses the point. (Letters, March 15) There are two key differences between the Lib Dem's council tax rise and the former Labour-run council's. They are:
1. Labour made spending plans, put up the council tax and took full responsibility. The Lib Dem's made promises they did not cost and now blame everyone else.
2. In Holgate, where I live, I remember a promise of "£100 off your council tax bill".
Now it is £110 more than last year's. Where is the promised reduction, Mr Steele?
