Heworth U17s let slip a good lead to draw 16-16 with Brighouse Rangers.
They looked more accomplished than Brighouse but too many wrong options and unforced errors allowed the visitors to stay in the game and get the draw with a last-minute converted try.
Tries came from Ashley Bodden (2), Liam Watling and Chris Varley, while Rob Ainsworth and Sean Holmes impressed.
John Richardson scored three tries but his Heworth U13s side still lost 40-18 to Hunslet.
The visitors had the elements in the first half and built a 30-12 lead, with Heworth showing more composure and tightening up in defence after the break. Conversions came from Blake Atkin, Joe Hudson and Gary Sissons, who was impressive in the loose as were Ben Simpson, Jack Tudor and Steve Tape.
