I FIND it incredible that York College can suggest that a development of 360 homes on Tadcaster Road would have "no negative impact on traffic conditions" (March 16).
This development would be built at the end of the busiest commuter road in Yorkshire, the A64 from York to Leeds, and would clearly generate increased commuter traffic to Leeds.
This in turn will only serve to congest the A64 still further.
Residents of York and those who take a pride in the city should think very carefully about what this would ultimately lead to for the A64: congestion, pollution and calls for it to be turned into a motorway.
