LEGAL firm Drivers will soon move from its base in Pump Court, in Kings Square, York where the practice has been for 25 years of its 150-year existence.
The plan is to move only a mile away to 56a Bootham on Friday.
The firm will take over the entire three floors above the York District Register Office.
"The intention wasn't to give the public access to births, marriages, deaths... and probate," quipped Geoff Elliott, practice manager. "It's just that our Pump Court base consisted of two separate buildings divided by a courtyard and now the 12 staff will all be under one roof -- and for the first time we will have parking available for clients. It is an old, beautiful building which has been totally renovated by the York Conservation Trust."
