Carrying on our musical feature to uncover what was at number one on the birth dates of City's first team, this week the spotlight falls on the Minstermen's new players.
The Flying Pickets' chart-topper Only You coincided with on-loan striker Richard Offiong's birthday and that appears to be the message Chris Brass sent to Newcastle as he waited for the 20-year-old to become available.
Kevin Donovan, who has signed for City on a non-contract basis, was born exactly 12 years later, and will be hoping to show a similar turn of pace on his debut to Ernie (The Fastest Milkman in the West), which was Benny Hill's hit at the time.
Finally, it may be a slight variation on a tired football clich but I am sure Chris Porter will be taking it "One Day at a Time" after taking over from Mark Ovendale in goal and making his City debut against Torquay.
That was also the name of the best-selling Lena Martell single when Porter was born in Middlesbrough.
Ovendale was born to the strains of Gary Glitter's I Love You Love Me Love.
