George and Ringo will forever be billed as "also starred with the Beatles".

George was the "dark horse" of the band and, subsequently, the money behind the label of the same name; the youngest Beatle, brilliant... but eclipsed by Lennon and McCartney despite a long, fruitful, if erratic career as a solo artist until he died of cancer in November 2001. This week the talented musician and singer took his place in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ata ceremony in New York when his son Dhani, who is following in his father's musical footsteps, played and sang in honour of his dad. A fitting tribute for the man who was always in the shadows of the Fab Two. Lack of space restricts me from detailing the tracks on all these re-issues and double CDs, but here you will find some of George's ever-lasting legacy of hits such as Love Comes To Everyone, My Sweet Lord, Something Taxman, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Got My Mind Set On You, All Those Years Ago, If You Believe and, my favourite, Here Comes The Sun. By far the best offering from these years is the double-header, Live In Japan. As George died he told his family with virtually his last breath words to the effect of: let their be peace on earth. I hope you have found yours, George.
