MILLTHORPE School's brave run in the National Schools Rugby League Cup came to an end at the hands of holders St Cuthberts (St Helens).
The York lads made a great start when Brian Wright scored a well-worked try in the opening minutes.
But the well-drilled visitors settled in to their game with two quick converted tries before Wright reduced the arrears with his second touchdown just before half-time.
St Cuthberts scored soon after the interval but Wright and Mark Wilson scored tires to put Millthorpe in front with ten minutes remaining.
The St Helens school dug deep to stage a major assault on the Millthorpe line and snatched two converted tries to clinch a place in the semi-finals.
