BRIAN Wright scored four tries as New Earswick All Blacks U14s reached the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Continuation Cup by defeating a fired-up Scarborough Pirates side 20-10.

Boro raced into a deserved 10-0 lead before All Blacks hit back with Wright's first try and a Ted Young conversion. Ill discipline led to Scarborough being reduced to 12 men and this became a telling factor as All Blacks pulled away in the second half with three further tries from Wright and a conversion from Ian Henderson.

Outstanding performances came from Alex Redhead, Jack Sinclair and Sean McArthur.

New Earswick U11s lost 20-18 at one of the league's top sides, Fryston, but the hosts were awarded two dubious tries.

Good performances came from centre Adam Johnson, hard-working Louis Pool, scrum-half Jake Atkinson and Joel Johnson.

Men of the match were Liam O'Mally and James Leaf. Try-scorers were Pool, Adam Johnson, Dean Layton and Liam Dawson, Johnson adding a goal.

New Earswick U8s gave an outstanding performance against Dudley Hill. Most improved was Charlie Watling, top tackler was Lewis Deighton in his first-ever match and man of the match was hat-trick man Liam Lowson. Declam Calem (2) and Sebastian Gectzy also crossed.

New Earswick Emerging-8s also had a great first home game against Dudley Hill.

Most improved was Travis Leetham, top tackler was again Natasha Turner, and man of the match was captain Jordan Harris. Try scorers were Zac Johnson (2), Turner and Harris.

New Earswick U12s never gave up against the higher-ranked Drighlington, despite the 48-4 scoreline.

Matty Gell was man of the match, Nathan Tupman was top tackler and Chris Chaplin was most improved. Their try came from Dan Perkins.

Selby Warriors U11s won their second game in a row with a 32-16 defeat of Middleton.

The victory avenged after a narrow defeat earlier in the season. Prop Josh Skilbeck scored two tries, man of the match James Gooding got his long-overdue first of the season and coach's choice Adam Chappell grabbed two full-length tries, while Connor Smith, Luke Liddle and Josh Parkin also crossed.
