YORK Schoolboys Under-11s football team will be bidding for glory when they visit Chester-Le-Street's Riverside complex to contest the regional finals of the English Schools' Seven-A-Side Cup on Saturday.
The York team have been drawn to meet West Tyne, Rother Valley, Wirral and Halton with the winners going through to the national finals at Lilleshall on April 24.
York U11s: J Edmond, J Forbes-Walker, W Pepper, C Qualter, A Thornton, D Fisher, S Byram, C Bilton, J Gore.
Players are asked to meet at the Millfield pub/restaurant for 9.30am and the first match kicks off at 11.45am.
The Millfield has also been booked for 5.30pm to celebrate the boys' achievements in reaching the final and all are welcome.
York under-11s visited Hull in a friendly, arranged at the last minute, and came away with a 0-0 draw despite travelling with only 12 players.
Man-of-the-match Sam Leach put in an outstanding display at centre-back and Adam Stelmarch went close to grabbing victory for York when his 30-yard effort struck the crossbar.
But Ryan Buck made some important saves for the visitors, for whom Sam Byram and Tom Derbyshire also made good contributions.
