Neil Foster scored a hat-trick of penalties to put Slingsby through to the second round of the Beckett League Division Two Cup on aggregate.
Dave Wallinger, Kevin Wright and Colin Casey made it 3-3 for Ampleforth, but Slingsby won 5-4 on aggregate.
Coxwold beat Bagby and Balk 5-0 in the first leg of their first round tie with a Chris Beaumont hat-trick plus two goals from Daniel Jaques and Jason Sargent.
Carlton United are through to the second round after a 3-2 victory at home to Gillamoor made it 5-2 on aggregate.
Karl Richardson fired Gillamoor ahead only for Darren Beattie to equalise for Carlton. With 20 minutes left, Bob Dixon put Carlton ahead and Beattie grabbed his second. A Craig Ibbotson free kick for Gillamoor late in the game pulled it back to 3-2.
