RJF Homes Beckett League division one leaders Kirkdale United were left thanking their lucky stars when they claimed maximum points from a last-minute fixture at home to Thornton-le-Dale.
The game was hastily arranged after both Duncombe Park and Aislaby United failed to raise teams for their intended fixtures against Kirkdale and Thornton-le-Dale respectively.
Kirkdale won 3-0 against Thornton-le-Dale with goals by Chris Simpson, Philip Charlton and Johnny Marwood.
The only other league action saw division two leaders Heslerton Reserves come a cropper at Union Rovers.
Jerry Fields headed Heslerton into the lead but Pete Tiffeny - who lives in Heslerton and is signed on for the first team but has never played - equalised with his first of three goals in the opening 45.
Richard Abbey scored twice more in the second half for Rovers, with Wayne Pilmoor hitting one for Heslerton in between.
