THOMAS HOGG was Real Cliffe's hero in a dramatic York FA Intermediate Cup semi-final win over Dunnington at Hopgrove.
He scored a hat-trick and got the winning goal in a penalty shoot-out after Dunnington had come from 3-0 down with 15 minutes of normal time remaining to force extra time.
Hogg put Real Cliffe 2-0 up before the interval and Andy Kirkham netted the third, scoring from an acute angle.
With a quarter of an hour to go Dunnington had pulled two goals back through Matthew Davis and a Josh Tattersill header inside a minute.
With four minutes remaining Kester Witt equalised to send the game into extra time.
Hogg completed his hat-trick in the second period of extra time, but with three minutes remaining Tattersill equalised to push the game into a penalty shoot-out, which Real Cliffe won 5-4 with Hogg netting the final goal.
In the final Real Cliffe will play Poppleton, who beat Huntington 5-1 at Dunnington in the other semi-final.
Huntington made the worst possible start when a goalkeeping error let in David Raxworthy for an early goal.
Two goals by Peter Duggan and one each from Jamie Illing and Adam Benson completed Poppleton's tally.
Aman Dhesis scored Huntington's consolation goal with a superbly taken free-kick.
