THE England cricket team's official magazine has moved to York.
York-based print and design company, Maxiprint, which unveiled its new name, The Max Design and Print Company, yesterday, has bought a 51 per cent share of the publishing company Cricnet.
The Max's new partnership with the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA) will see the official magazine of the England cricket team and the PCA being produced in York.
The Max, which was created after Maxiprint was bought by PDQ last May, has given the magazine a makeover.
The company at Kettlestring Lane in Clifton Moor has changed the publication's name from Cricnet to All Out Cricket.
The new-look magazine will be hitting the shops from the last week in April.
Director Darren Avey said: "It's great news for our company to produce the official magazine of the PCA and England cricket team. We are confident that the magazine will create a huge impact and is actively supported by all the England and county players themselves."
But the firm's cricket connections do not stop there. The Max has already been given the contract to produce Yorkshire County Cricket Club's official magazine, The Yorker.
The firm is busy installing state-of-the-art printing presses at its Clifton Moor site including York's only mini web press, which can handle printing runs of up to one million copies.
"These are exciting times for us," said managing director, Nick Ivel.
"We have shown that our quality is unbeatable - and this is attracting high-profile clients, much of it through word-of-mouth, which is extremely pleasing."
