EAST Yorkshire towns and villages are to get high speed internet access - thanks to a local company.
Kingston Communications, based in East Yorkshire, plans to bring broadband technology to 13 communities in the area, including Market Weighton, Little Weighton and Gilberdyke.
By the end of March, homes and businesses will be able to access the Kingston's Broadband services, RapidTime and RapidBizNet.
Broadband is ten times faster than standard internet connections and allows users to talk on the telephone while surfing the net. Kevin Walsh, managing director for Kingston Communications' East Yorkshire division, said: "We know that people in these areas are crying out for broadband. Unlike our competitors, who require requests from at least 200 customers before committing to rolling out broadband, we are ready now."
