WENDY Smith's two 100s for 24 helped Cygnet 'A' to a 4-2 advantage before Maggie Druett-Lynda Kennelly combined to secure the win against Cueball 'C' in York John Smith's Ladies League division one.
Angie Hields-Carole Pipes were the matchwinners for Cueball 'B' at Independent. Michelle Britton hit a maximum as Cygnet 'C' stopped Phoenix rising.
Clifton lowered Flag whose points came via Jean West and Christine Jackson, and Chrissie Noble was the star in Dringhouses 5-4 victory against Holgate partnering Sarah Bell to secure the win.
Leeman go top in division two despite being sunk 3-6 by Britannia who sailed clear in the pairs, while Slipper's Aline Turpin (two 100s) inspired them as they overcame Jubilee by the same score.
Jacqui Riddall (Burton WMC) won the pairs playing a lone hand, but Clifton had already sewn up the match. Maureen Murray combined with Tracy Billingham to win the decider for Cygnet against Sun.
Burnholme hang on to second place in division three with a 6-3 conquest of Leeman 'A'. Severus remain unbeaten in the second half of the season, but were run close at Shepherd 'A', Deanna Joy-Val Long sealing the win.
Julie Brownlee and Kim Simpson hit the big scores as Ebor cleaned up in the pairs for a 7-2 win at Mitre.
Division four front runners Woolpack were taken to the wire by Volunteer 'B', Sharon Nelson-Sybil Chilton winning the decider for Pack. Cueball recovered after Turf had raced into a 3-1 lead to clear up the remaining legs.
Kath Croft scored well as Woodman chopped down Reindeer.
With Collingwood not playing, Tankard 'A' took full advantage, by recording an emphatic 8-1 win over Nelson in the Marston Moor Villages Darts and Dominoes League.
Oak stand level on points with Collingwood despite going down 6-3 at home to Sun whose Stu Jackson and Dave Smith did well.
Mal Davey (24) and Peter Wray (25) stood out for Alice 'A' who recorded a 6-3 win at Tankard 'B', but the best performance of the night came from Mark Hartley with a superb 23-darter.
The best check-out came from Dave Richmond (Ox) with 71.
Holders on form
York John Smith's Mixed League mixed pairs title holders John Smith and Michelle Britton (Cue Ball) eased into the semi-finals.
Smith hit 12 ton-plus scores and Britton supported well with several tons in wins against Dean and Toni Smallwood (Leeman 'B') 2-0 (26 darts), Chris Grant and Kelly Lofthouse (Leeman 'A') 2-0 and John Miller and Lynda Kennelly (Cygnet 'A') 2-1.
Pete Leake and Wendy Smith's (Cue Ball) path to the semis saw them record 2-0 victories over Pete Holland and Chris Waddington (Cygnet 'B'), then Martyn Turner and Julie Judson (Leeman 'A') and Dave Gibbons and Lynn Thompson (Cygnet 'A'). Leake hit 11 ton-plus scores. Smith included a 25-dart leg.
Kev O'Hara and Angie Hields (Huntington) had O'Hara including a maximum in a 26-dart leg to defeat Nigel Exton and Anne Bass (Cygnet 'A') after earlier disposing of Tom Hair and Tracey Farmeary (Huntington). More tons followed as O'Hara and Hields took out Dave O'Hara and Joan Hunter.
Eight ton-plus scores from Kev Walton was well backed by partner Dawn Exton (5) (Cygnet 'A') in defeats of Col Rowntree and Di Moorland (Cygnet 'B'), Phil Chapman and Doreen Johnson (Slipper), and Phil Smith and Amanda Birtton (Leeman 'A').
Other semi-finalists: Tom Hair (Huntington), Martin Turner (Leeman), Dave Gibbons (Cygnet), Stewart Scott (Beeswing); Angie Hields (Huntington), Anne Bass (Cygnet), Tracey Farmeary (Huntington) and Sharron Neads (Cygnet).
