Two goals by Stuart Magin gave Slingsby a 2-1 win at Ampleforth in the first round of the Division 2 Cup.
Dave Wallinger put Ampleforth ahead after nine minutes. Magin equalised with a penalty midway through the first half and he got the winner in the second half from a 20-yard free kick.
Just after this Slingsby goalkeeper Andy Bongham was injured and went to hospital, where he had eight stitches inserted into a wound above an eye-lid.
Gillamoor came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home to Carlton United in a second round tie.
Carlton took the lead with an own goal after five minutes and Graham Barber got their second goal. James Cook got Gillamoor's first goal with a header and Karl Richardson scored the equaliser.
