Selby Warriors gained revenge for their last-minute cup defeat by Groves earlier in the season with a comfortable 36-14 away win in Pennine League division five.
Prop John Broadhurst starred with a first half hat-trick that knocked the stuffing out of a well-drilled Groves outfit.
Selby scored first when skipper Carl Bardauskas nipped between the posts for a typical try from acting-half, Hansen goaling.
Groves responded with a penalty before Hansen crossed again - only to have the ball knocked out of his hands in a last-ditch tackle.
His disappointment was soon eased when Broadhurst scored his first try, before Groves struck back with a converted try from a set-piece move.
After that, however, the first half was the Broadhurst show as the man-mountain rampaged up and down the pitch knocking several Groves players into next week.
A steamroller run from half-way saw him score beside a post and on the stroke of half-time he barged through for a third try, which Hansen converted to make it 24-8 at the interval.
Groves hit back with a converted set-piece try but that was their last score as the game became scrappy.
Warriors' slick handling appeared to have deserted them until Hansen crashed through some weak tackles to score and then centre Colin Barker bagged a couple to complete the scoring, the highlight being a 70-yard sprint down the touchline after brother Sean had found him in space with an overhead pass.
Several members of the Selby team made up the Warriors XIII for their friendly on Sunday against a team from the Army's 209 Signals Squadron.
The match, which Warriors won 40-10, raised funds for a Motor Neurone Disease charity.
But Selby suffered two blows ahead of their big Shipley Trophy tie next week as top-scorer Wayne Fennell suffered an ankle injury and coach Kev Fellows limped off with a knee problem.
