MEMO to Messrs Raynsford N, Bayley H, Galloway, S.
Don't worry about lack of time to reprint my council tax bill, it will be sent back to City of York Council with the correct figures worked out.
These will be:
2.5 per cent increase for City of York Council (still more than my wages are likely to increase this year!)
Zero per cent increase for North Yorkshire police due to lack of proper policing on my area (this still means that the police will get the same as last year, which in itself was an increase of 76 per cent over the previous year, which was 41.54 per cent over the year before that)
Zero per cent increase for the fire and rescue service (we shall want to see what they are made of before they ask for more money from the taxpayers).
I have one major suggestion as to how to save money in City of York Council. Stop paying councillors a wage for their work.
To be a city councillor should be a privilege not a job. This should save a fortune.
