YORK RI cemented their mid-table position in Yorkshire Three with a 28-8 home victory over Wath on Dearne on Saturday.
With a good win over league leaders Castleford under their belt, visitors Wath opened strongly and went in front with a penalty by stand-off Patterson when RI were caught offside.
RI quickly levelled the scores with a Matthew Yates penalty and went in front when Tim Nash intercepted a straight pass from visitors' centre Conroy and ran the length of the field to score under the posts. Yates kicked the conversion.
Wath hit back just before the break when No 8 Seagood, who had made several driving runs, barged over from the base of the scrum.
RI started the second half with a slender two-point lead and pressed hard to make the most of the chances and went further in front when Chris Austin crossed wide out.
With the visitors starting to tire, RI's forwards took control and a converted Howard Green try and two more penalties by star man Yates gave York RI a convincing victory.
