AT the last local elections the voters in York, unhappy with the then-Labour Council, voted to give the Liberal Democrats a chance.
Because of the recent performances of our Liberal Democrat council, with the third highest increase in council tax in the country, the introduction of increased parking charges and the Barbican fiasco, the voters in York find themselves worse off. Mr Galloway, you have blown it.
Councillor Ann Reid remarks: "The problems in Micklegate go far beyond the proposals to introduce parking charges. The only way to prove who's right and who's wrong is to implement them" (March 3).
If the council is proved wrong, what will they do about the businesses that have closed down in the meantime? As far as I am concerned in the Holgate Ward, come back Liz Edge - all is forgiven.
