DEVELOPMENT of the A1237 is now the responsibility of City of York Council and there is no money in the budget for the foreseeable future as I understand it.
Daily, in both rush hours, a snails-pace crawl between the Wetherby roundabout and the A19 roundabout takes place, the journey taking 30 minutes or more.
Other pinch-points exist at different times of day. Much frustration and wasted time accrues daily.
A modern, well-designed road should not be subject to such delays. York's reputation is blighted by such bottle-necks and planning should be in place, money made available and the local transport system brought to a standard which local commuters deserve.
