SESSIONS 'A' are in control of division one of the Integrated Utility York and District Table Tennis League after winning their last two matches easily.
They beat York RI 'A' 7-3 with Chris Nicholls winning all three of his matches. RI's Richard Crowther had a good 7-11, 11-6, 6-11, 12-10, 11-7 win over Mick Willcockson.
Sessions went on to beat Groves WMC 'B' 7-3, with Wilcockson and Nicholls both chalking up three wins.
Crowther was also in good form against Coneysthorpe 'A' , helping his side to a 6-4 victory. Crowther and Paul Noutch won twice with Charles Allenby winning two for the villagers. RI 'A' are now pushing Strensall 'A' for second place.
Mick Kenyon was unbeaten as Groves WMC 'A' defeated York RI 'B' 8-2.
Bootham CC 'A' whitewashed the University 10-0, while Railway Association are out of the bottom two after a 5-5 draw with Poppleton'A', whose Richard Moss won all his matches.
Division two leaders Poppleton 'B' overcame Groves WMC 'C' 8-2 with Rob Pulleyn and Dave Rawlings each winning three. They then drew 5-5 with Coneysthorpe 'B' with Malcolm Haswell winning all three for Coneysthorpe.
Bootham CC 'B', in second place, only managed a 5-5 draw with BT 'A' despite three wins from Richard Ingleby and two from Peter Corner. Barrie Thomas won two for BT.
York RI 'D' beat Nestle Rowntree 'A' 7-3, all the players each winning two plus the doubles.
Groves WMC 'C' enjoyed a 9-1 win over Bootham CC 'C', who now drop into the bottom two. Steve Long and Martin Symons won three times for Groves.
Three games from Ed Wardman helped Strensall 'B' draw 5-5 with York RI 'C'.
Poppleton 'C' eased their relegation worries with a 5-5 draw with Groves WMC 'C'. Poppleton's Richard Bowman was a two-match winner - a feat matched by Groves' Chris Hutchinson and Steve Long.
BT 'B' increased their lead in division three after beating Poppleton 'D' 8-2, Jim Stevenson being unbeaten.
Northern Electric struggled to beat a determined Strensall 'D' 6-4. Simon Prins played well for Strensall to be undefeated and then helped Colin Dickson to win the doubles.
Strensall 'C' had a close 6-4 win over Poppleton 'E, John Bostwick and Paul Minskip each winning twice but being overshadowed by Matt Ayres' three victories for Poppleton.
Despite turning up with only two players, Poppleton 'E' still beat York RI 'F' 7-3, but the 'F' team eased any relegation worries with a 6-4 win over a weakened Shepherds 'A', whose Gary Neads won all his matches.
Groves WMC 'D' had a 6-4 win over York RI 'E'. Peter Griffiths played well to win all three for RI, while all the Groves players won two each.
John Stokes' three wins helped Sessions 'C' to a 6-4 division four win over York RI 'J', whose best player was Tom Weedon, who continued his good season with a couple of victories.
