WELL done Gordon. What an inspiring story the transformation of St Nicholas Fields is (March 2).
This project, started in 1988, has involved so many people from the Tang Hall community and no doubt from many other parts of York.
It is an excellent example of how everyone with creative thought, community spirit and a great deal of determination can make a real difference to our environment.
As a York resident, albeit on the west side, I am very grateful to Gordon Campbell-Thomas and everyone who has been part of the St Nicholas Fields project over the years.
It will be a great shame to see Gordon leave York to take on new environmental challenges in Goa but he can leave safe in the knowledge that he has done his bit to make York a better place to live and helped towards giving our planet a sustainable future.
