I FULLY support your campaign to save the Odeon. I have been there many times and I too was one of the school kids who went to see Scott Of The Antarctic.
But what I want to ask is, why wasn't the same fuss made about the Rialto?
Half the population of York must have gone to the Rialto.
I was there the first night John Barry played in public and that was the start of what was to be the best musical entertainment venue in York.
We had all the top names of the time including the Beatles.
Yet is was demolished without any protest. It should have been made into a shrine.
