IT Sports continued their winning sequence in men's division one of the York Badminton League with a 7-2 away win over Rowntrees.
Mark Hopwood and Stewart Robertson were the visitors' top pairing with three wins for 90-34. This included a 7 and 12 win over Mark Barker and Phil Grant, who took both Rowntree wins.
University Student's men's 'A' were untroubled in scoring a 9-0 home win over Clifton 'A'. Sam Gardener and Chris Woodroffe took the student honours with three wins for 99-54.
Selby Jubilee 'A' visited University Students 'B' in men's two and were good value for an 8-1 win. Martin Overton and Peter Murray had their best series this season with three Jubilee wins for 90-44.
York RI Tuesday/Thursday 'B' entertained Fulfordgate in men's three where a good team display ensured a 6-3 win. Clive Debenham and Matt Hobman took all three Fulfordgate wins for a total of 103-58. However, Ian Sanderson and Graham Harrison clinched the match win with a 10 and 4 over Alan Roberts and Peter Wilkinson.
The battle of the old rivals in mixed one saw York RI 'A' avenge an early season defeat with a 7-2 home win over Clifton 'A'. Paul Turner and Sandra Pauw took three Institute wins for a return of 110-77, including a narrow 15-5 11-15 17-14 win over Richard McIntosh and Karen Broster.
Clifton 'B' scored a fine 9-0 home win over RI Tuesday/Thursday 'A' in mixed two. Dilip Eapen and Gill McIntosh were the pick of the Clifton pairings with three straight wins for a total of 90-31.
Clifton 'B' earlier visited Shepherds and lost 6-3. Dave Simpson and Chiara Secchi sealed the home win with a 15-7 12-15 15-9 win over Paul Waterhouse and Sandra Robinson.
Huntington 'B' were taken to the last rubber before beating RI Tuesday/Thursday 'B' 5-4 in mixed three. John Deighton and Carolyn Arden were Huntington's match-winners with three straight wins for 90-55. Lisa Turner and Ian McAulay kept their nerve to seal the home win with a 12 and 12 over Ellen Mooney and Bill Clemmett.
Leaders Easingwold kept up the pressure with an 8-1 home win over YUSC 'A'. Alison Monk and Mike Hourston top-scored for Easingwold with three straight wins for 90-29, while Andy Brown and Rachel Adamson took the consolation win with an 8 and 6 over N Crocker and S Wise.
Riverside 'B' continued their domination of mixed five with a 7-2 away win over Pocklington 'B'. John Fowler and Tracy Maddison took the only maximum of the match for an aces total of 111-69, including a 15-6 10-15 15-9 win over Matt Burrows and Cate Hyde.
Andrew Dunning and Steph Bevan starred for Drax 'D' when they visited Terrys and won 8-1. Dunning and Bevan took three straight wins for a total of 90-33, while Pat Santin and Richard Rodgers took the Terrys win with a 5-15 15-9 15-13 over Sue Hardy and Richard Summers.
