KEVIN Butler's hat-trick inspired leaders Clifton FC to a 6-4 win over Woodthorpe Warriors in the first division of the York Sunday Afternoon League.
He opened the scoring after 20 minutes but Warriors hit back to take a 2-1 lead. Dale Phillips equalised but by half-time Warriors had their noses in front.
Butler's second goal levelled matters and Clifton pushed on with further goals by Ross Moynihan, Fox and Butler.
St John's College turned on the style to win 5-0 at Rawcliffe United (Goole), while Black Dog Camblesforth edged out Saville AFC 2-1.
After their 24-1 slaughter of Cedarwood, CB United were brought down to earth with a 4-0 second division defeat against Bay Horse (Marygate).
United lost skipper Rich Baker with a twisted ankle and Bay Horse cashed in with Mark Pickard's opener.
Bay Horse's goalkeeper denied Mick Cook and Keith Potter with some excellent saves and his side went 2-0 up through Pickard, who went on to complete his hat-trick. Paul Graves finished the scoring.
Huntington Juniors boosted their promotion chances with a 3-0 victory over second-placed Shoulder Of Mutton.
