IN response to your article on 'Fast buses' (February 18), I used the No 1 bus that travels this route through Haxby and Wigginton recently, and not for a long time have I had such a "violent" ride in a vehicle.
It was comparable to the Magnum Force rollercoaster at Flamingo Land.
The driver was obviously aware of the discomfort caused by the humps and did everything humanly possible to minimise it.
I suggest responsible councillors take this journey in a bus, then ask themselves why more people will not use buses.
Some common sense is needed here. Why can't traffic calming be more bus-friendly?
Measure the gaps between the wheels, make the humps/speed cushions so they don't affect buses, like most other councils.
