ICY roads caused a flurry of accidents in York and North Yorkshire overnight and today.
Two people were taken to York Hospital after a three-vehicle crash on the A59 at Whixley crossroads, between York and Knaresborough, at 7.43am.
At about 6.30am, a white Renault Megane left the A64 near Bramham crossroads. No-one was hurt.
An 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were taken to Harrogate Hospital after an accident on the A59 at the Black Bull pub, Kettlesing, near Harrogate at 10.45 last night.
Reports were coming in today of a further crash on the A19 at Crockey Hill, Escrick, today.
It was thought that three cars and a van were involved. Emergency workers said two people were taken to hospital.
A police spokesman said: "What grit had been placed on the roads now seems to have been dispersed."
