PROMOTION contenders Heslington had to settle for a point in division two of the Leeper Hare York and District league but they had to make a remarkable comeback from 5-1 down against bottom of the table Huby.

They scored first but then let Huby take over before goals from Simon Musgrave (2), Jim Frary, Danny Walters and a last-minute equaliser from Paul Dunn on his debut completed the comeback.

Easingwold moved towards the title with a 3-1 home win over struggling Moor Lane.

They were three up inside the first half-hour through Tim Jackson (2) and centre half John Lockley's header. Lane's John Yates pulled a goal back goal after 70 minutes but Easingwold were already home and dry.

Substitute Ben Bailey grabbed Fulford's winner against Stillington five minutes from time. Dave Houldridge put Fulford ahead but John Anderson equalised before Bailey made his appearance.

Selby RSSC kept their promotion interests alive with a 1-1 draw at Elvington. Andy Gent put Elvington ahead but Steve O'Mahoney levelled ten minutes before the break.

Wilberfoss settled for a point in their home game with Ouseburn as the visitors missed two penalties in the 2-2 draw. Shaun Hodgson put the home side in front, Ouseburn levelled but Dave Bailes restored Wilberfoss's lead from the penalty spot with ten minutes to go. But after their penalty failures the visitors snatched an equaliser with virtually the last kick of the game.

Poppleton need points in their remaining seven games if they are to avoid the drop. They went behind after two minutes at Barmby Moor to Stuart Barker's goal. Chris Tatterton increased Barmby Moor's lead before Craig Stuttle managed a goal for Poppleton but the home side had no difficulty in holding out for a 2-1 win.

Tockwith had no problems in defending their 100 per cent division three record as they saw off visitors Norton 7-2 with goals from Richard Crabb (2), Andy Wilson, Ben Tobin (2) Stuart Longbottom and an own goal.

Amotherby & Swinton look to be favourites for the second promotion spot after beating rivals Strensall 3-0 with goals from Simon Wall, Steve Baxter and Danny Biggins.

White Horse fell yet again, this time at home to Heworth. Mike Pybus headed Heworth in front but goals from Scott Griffiths and Lenny Mason gave White Horse the advantage. But Ben Branningan levelled and Heworth snatched a winner through Mark Hansey.

Wheldrake's woe's continued with a 5-0 home defeat against Sheriff Hutton. Simon Roy struck a hat-trick to accompany goals from Alex Rouse and Kenny Crampton.

Hemingbrough won 3-1at home to Rawcliffe Rangers with two goals from Harry Jackson and one from Danny Young.
