THE Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) provided £3 million for a project at the Manor House Nursing Home in Stamford Bridge.
As a result, the 19-year-old family-run business has extended from 46 beds for nursing care to 107, and 30 close care apartments are provided.
In addition to nursing care, Manor House, which has already received awards for architectural design, quality management and care, also offers respite care, day care and a home care service.
The self-contained apartments, yet to be filled, will be suitable for couples or single people aged 60 plus. The apartments will provide a secure, attractive environment, where a level of care support can be provided by arrangement.
Proprietor Tony Gray said: "We are delighted that we are finally able to open our new extension. "The funding package that RBS provided has enabled Manor House to significantly extend its facilities and become a leading provider of care to the elderly in York and the surrounding area."
