SO City of York Councillor Ann Reid has had her moment of glory by turning on the electronic car parking system.

Was it necessary to spend £1 million on something that really wasn't needed?

Whether a car park is full or not, people will still drive in and wait for a place to become available. Castle car park is a good example.

Perhaps Ann wasn't aware that that's what they have always done.

As for the ones on the ring road, I thought it was a new game to play while stuck in waiting traffic

"Blankety Blank" comes to mind.
