HEAD coach Richard Agar is hoping York City Knights can make a good impression on new loan ranger Ryan Benjefield - and vice versa.
As revealed in Thursday's Evening Press, the 21-year-old Aussie prop has signed on a month's loan from Super League club Hull.
Benjefield played in pre-season for the Airlie Birds but is unlikely to be a first choice front-rower at the KC Stadium just yet, while the grading phase prevents him playing at Under-21 level for a month or so, so his move to York benefits everyone.
Agar said: "We've lost Rich Hayes (to retirement), Joe Helme is still in fire service training and Neil Mears is not as fit yet, and we felt we were a bit light in the front row.
"We haven't been able to come up with anything long-term at the moment but Ryan isn't playing first grade for Hull for four or five weeks so this suits us both. He will fill a hole and we will give him game-time.
"We will want to make a good impression on him as a club and hopefully he will enjoy his football with us."
Tomorrow's squads:
Rams: from Preece, Webber, McHugh, Kirke, Waddle, Senior, A Thaler, Hicks, Robinson, Ward, Thewliss, Spears, Crouthers, Redfearn, P Smith, Booth, Hawksley, R Thaler, Kershaw.
Knights (probable): Graham, C Smith, Langley, Wood, Godfrey, Rhodes, Brough, Benjefield, Jackson, Sozi, Callaghan, Friend, Ball. Subs from Elston, Ramsden, Forsyth, Briggs, Cain.
