IT is well known that there is a lack of affordable housing in York. One of the reasons for this is obvious to me every time I travel down Fulford Road.
There are at least eight 'To Let' signs outside the new apartments at Fulford Place. Obviously, someone is able to buy a second investment home in York which they can afford to let out.
At the same time the quantity of housing in York available to buy is reduced. City Of York Council needs to address the housing problem and regulate the buy-to-let market, so as to allow first time buyers the chance to get on the housing ladder.
