I HAVE received my copy of Focus On Skelton, Rawcliffe And Clifton Without. It contains a residents' feedback section headed "Decisions that the council will shortly vote on".
The second item states: "I'm prepared to pay an additional two per cent on my council tax bill each year to fund the replacement of the Castle car park with a grassed area", and two columns marked 'Agree', 'Disagree'.
The treasurer's office tells me there are 81,162 domestic council tax-payers paying more than £62 million a year. A two per cent increase on this figure is a very large amount.
Has the council worked out the cost of creating and maintaining this area? I hope our councillors will give us the facts and figures before we are asked to make decisions and before they do.
Mrs J I Gaastra,
Moorlands Road, Skelton.
