York City young guns Lev Yalcin, Sean Davies, Graeme Law and Matthew Coad have all been offered professional contracts at Bootham Crescent.

Yalcin and Davies have both made their full first-team debuts in the past six days while Coad, who has been sidelined with injury recently, was a second half substitute at Darlington in December.

Law is yet to taste first-team action but is considered as a promising understudy to skipper Darren Edmondson at right wing-back.

City boss Chris Brass believes all four teenagers will play a role in the club's future and said: "Thankfully we have been able to offer the four of them contracts and we would not do that if we did not feel they were capable of getting into the first team. They have been given an opportunity and a lot of people do not get that far and I do not see any reason why they should not go on to establish themselves.

"I think you have an affinity with a club when you come through the ranks. I did at Burnley and the four lads are York City through and through. It's a credit to the work Paul Stancliffe and Brian Neaves are doing because if four come through a year then they are doing good jobs."
