Pickering Town are keeping it in the family with the addition of cousins Steve and Mark Swales.

Former Hull City, Reading and Scarborough defender Steve, 30, joined the Pikes this week from Bridlington along with younger cousin Mark, from Whitby.

And 20-year-old Mark will go straight into tomorrow's squad to face relegation scrappers Arnold Town at The Recreation Ground.

Pickering boss Steve Brown said: "They will freshen things up for us, and that's what we were looking for because there are still plenty of games to play and we could do with the extra strength.

"Mark will figure in the game on Saturday, while Steve is just coming back from a slight injury so will be a week or so behind."

Brown otherwise has a full-strength team to face the strugglers, but has warned against complacency.

"They're a funny team because they're down at the bottom but never get beaten badly," he said.

Harrogate Town will be looking to keep the ball on the ground as much as possible when they play UniBond League premier division giants Gainsborough Trinity.

Gainsborough have a big height advantage but Town boss John Reed is hoping to show that size isn't everything.

He said: "Earlier in the season we played superbly at Gainsborough and lost 2-0. The biggest threat will be from set plays, corner kicks and free kicks because they put all these jolly green giants - they have got at least six players who are 6ft 3in or taller - in the box, and that is where both of their goals came from.

"We will be looking to use the flanks a lot more and I'm hoping James Turley and Colin Hunter will be at their best.

"It would be lovely to keep this run going and get a win on the board before going into the big game against Hucknall."

Michael McNaughton will be back from fire service training, with the remaining team members fit, well and free of suspension.

Goole joint-boss Paul Marshall will come face to face with another former club just weeks after Pickering Town when Harrogate Railway visit in what could be a clash of the titans.

Ex-manager Marshall will be one of a host of the Goole contingent familiar with the Railway players, with several former players also listing the Harrogate club in their previous clubs column.

And management colleague Jimmy Reid says they are looking forward to it. "It's a big game for Paul because he's had a lot of happy times at Railway," said Reid.

"It'll be an interesting one because they have just beaten Ossett Albion, who look like they are going to win the league, and Eastwood as well so they are on a good run at the moment."

Ian Hart is due back after missing the midweek game because of work commitments and Kevin Smith came through 120 minutes against Eastwood unscathed as an added bonus.

But forward Darren Fell is unlikely to feature after being rated at 50/50. Reid added: "I don't think we are going to risk him if he's not 100 per cent because we have got a lot of games to get through."

James Featherstone is expected to return for Railway, while Danny Spence is a doubt after picking up an Achilles knock in training.

Rail boss Martin Haresign said: "We're on a good run at the moment and are looking to keep it going. We've picked up a bit lately and they have had a brilliant run since Christmas so it's two teams in form."

Tadcaster Albion travel to NCEL division one leaders Long Eaton United looking for an upset.
