NEW Legends are making strides towards that status with victory in Round One, Heat Three of the Fibbers/Evening Press Battle of the Bands 2004. This Tuesday, they defeated second-placed 23 Beasts and saw off This Way Up and Seven Shades too.
Next week, in Heat Four, the hotly-tipped Scassa Monakee will be pitched against Dust Bowl Central, The Maybes and Reborn on Tuesday night. Doors open at 7.30pm; entry is first come, first in, and admission is £3.
On Monday, make way for Captain Everything!. "They're those nice 100mph bubblegum thrash pop punks from Watford," says Fibbers boss Tim Hornsby. "New album It's Not Rocket Science is 15 tracks of love, rejection, crazy ska breaks, awesome vocal harmonies and bass runs that chime like church bells. This band will force you to love hyper-speed love songs; they're a dirty little punk rock secret that people should hold close their hearts."
In support that night will be Vanilla Pod, The Hellraisins and Pony Club.
