RUSH-HOUR traffic was disrupted today when a lorry crashed on one of York's busiest roads.
The lorry left the eastbound stretch of the A64, between the A19 junction at Fulford and the A1079 junction at Grimston Bar, blocking the inside lane at about7.20am.
The lorry ended up on its side in a ditch, with diesel spilling into a watercourse. Emergency services attended ,and the lane was clear by 7.55am. It was temporarily closed again at 8.25am while the lorry was recovered. The driver, a 45-year-old man, was uninjured.
A spokesman for AA Roadwatch said traffic was queueing in the eastbound direction, but the school holidays meant congestion was not as bad as it would otherwise have been.
