ROB Atkinson scored twice as Sinnington, second in the table, beat visitors Thornton-le-Dale 3-1 in division one of the RJF Homes Beckett League.

Joseph Turnbull put Sinnington ahead after 25 minutes and Atkinson, following up a Turnbull shot which hit the woodwork, made it 2-0 five minutes before half-time.

Mike Lealman pulled a goal back for Thornton ten minutes from the end, but three minutes later Atkinson restored Sinnington's two-goal advantage.

Division one leaders Kirkdale United didn't play their fixture at home to third-placed Aislaby United because Aislaby were unable to raise a team following serious injuries to two of their players the previous week.

Rosedale came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 away to Black Swan Pickering, who took the lead after seven minutes when a Paul Mann corner from the left found Steve Sailes, whose cross-goal shot went into the net. Although Simon Dale tried to claim the goal it was awarded to Sailes. After 58 minutes Adrian Voicu slotted the ball home to make it 2-0 to Black Swan.

Two minutes later Matthew Farrow pulled one back for Rosedale and John Tindal scored a brilliant equaliser after 76 minutes with an unstoppable shot from 25 yards.

Pickering Royal Oak dropped vital points when they were beaten 2-1 at home to Kirkbymoorside Reserves. Andrew Piercy put the Moorsiders ahead after 20 minutes. Just before half-time Damon Cox headed an equaliser. Ten minutes into the second half Bobby Brewer beat two defenders to the ball and scored the winner.

In the last ten minutes Moorsiders' 'keeper Chris Nichols made two outstanding saves from Cox and substitute John Reed.

Duncombe Park won 2-0 at home to Old Malton 3rds with goals from Steve Garbutt, playing his first game of the season, after five minutes and Jack Coleman after 75.

Gillamoor moved up to fifth place in division two with a 2-1 win at home to third-placed Coxwold. Daniel Jacques put Coxwold ahead in the first half, but he also missed a penalty. Jodie Robson and substitute Sam Robinson scored for Gillamoor in the second half.

Carlton United scored four goals in the last 15 minutes to win 5-3 at home to ten-man Ampleforth. Kevin Wright scored for Ampleforth in the first half and Colin Casey made it 2-0 early in the second half.

With just under half an hour reamining Ali Wildash pulled one back for Carlton and then Damian Turner restored Ampleforth's two-goal advantage.

In the last quarter of an hour Richard Moss, Ian Robson (2) and Darren Beattie gave Carlton victory.
